Silsden community centre The Hive receives £10,000 boost

The Hive will use the donation, from the Morrisons Foundation, for renovations to the Elliott Street building.

Work will include the installation of new flooring and lighting in the main hall, and redecoration.

Centre manager, Jill Cook, says: "We are thrilled to have secured the grant from the Morrisons Foundation, allowing us to refurbish our vital space, which hosts private functions as well as essential services and activities for residents of Silsden and surrounding areas.

"The refurbishment will modernise the facility, making it more versatile and appealing to a wider range of users. Importantly, this investment will also support the long-term sustainability of our charity by enhancing income generation opportunities."

The Hive offers a wide range of activities and provision for all age groups, including pre-natal care, stay-and-play groups, a Saturday club, creative workshops and a wellbeing cafe.

The renovations will make a huge difference to the centre's work, and to members of the community who rely on the facility, for many years to come."
