A deposit scheme is helping key workers in West Yorkshire take their first steps on to the property ladder.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes, which has housing schemes across the Keighley area, have extended their Key Worker Deposit Contribution Scheme to include an even broader range of frontline workers.
The scheme, originally launched to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS, now offers up to £25,000 towards a home deposit for key workers, including social workers, care home staff, nursery workers, pharmacists, Blue Light Card holders, and an expanded group of NHS response workers.
Sam Wood, sales director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes, said: "Our Key Worker Deposit Contribution Scheme has already helped more than 3,700 buyers to purchase a low-carbon, energy-efficient home.
"While mortgage interest rates are starting to come down, many buyers are still struggling to get into a home that fits with their lifestyle.
"We’re now extending the scheme even further to ensure that those who provide essential frontline services can get into their own place."
Eligible key workers receive £1,000 towards their deposit for every £20,000 of a home’s purchase price.
To date, Barratt and David Wilson Homes have contributed a total of £63 million in support through the scheme.
