EMERGENCY services have been praised in Parliament for their response to a Keighley fire.
Nine crews from fire stations across the region – as well as two ambulances, a hazardous area response team and West Yorkshire Police – attended last Tuesday's (November 11) incident, at an industrial premises in Pitt Street.
One person was taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire was recorded as accidental.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Keighley MP Robbie Moore said: "A large industrial fire took place in my constituency, on Pitt Street, with nine fire crews attending – some from as far away as Mirfield and elsewhere in West Yorkshire.
"Unfortunately one person was taken to hospital, and there was a huge amount of damage.
"My thoughts go out to all those affected by the fire, and I want to personally thank the emergency services for their work in acting so professionally."
In response, leader of the Commons Sir Alan Campbell said: "I join the honourable gentleman in paying tribute to our emergency services and sending our sympathies to those affected."
