Oldfield Primary School taking part in UK Parliament Week

Oldfield Primary School is among those getting involved in the national event, which runs from November 24 to 30.

It aims to introduce people across the country, and around the world, to the UK Parliament and how they can engage with it.

More than 1,500 activities are planned across Yorkshire and the Humber, including events at Scarborough Sixth Form College and YMCA Rotherham.

UK Parliament Week, now in its 15th year, began in 2011 as an annual opportunity to inform and educate the public about the work of Parliament.

Fran Jeens, head of education and engagement at UK Parliament, said: "We’re proud to be welcoming the 15th year of UK Parliament Week this month.

"Over the years, this annual event has become an invaluable opportunity for people of all ages, especially young people, to find out how they can engage with UK Parliament – their Parliament – and how they can make a difference.

"We look forward to seeing all the wonderful events taking place up and down the country this year and well done to all involved in Yorkshire and the Humber."
