A gas company has worked to support expectant parents and young families struggling with money.
Hope 4U, supported by funding from Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is working with maternity units at Airedale and Bradford NHS Foundation Trusts.
The scheme supports around 1,200 families each year who are living in financial hardship and fuel poverty.
Carol Arnold, director of Hope 4U, said: “Hope 4U are proud of the partnership with Northern Gas Networks which supports expectant parents and young families across the Bradford & Airedale area.
"NGN are an incredibly supportive partner, showing genuine commitment and interest in the project and the life-changing outcomes, it delivers.
"The funding has enabled us to provide vital, high-level assistance to families in real need.”
The project provides advice on energy efficiency, carbon monoxide awareness, and maternity benefits, and helps families sign up to the Priority Services Register.
Families with expectant parents or children under five are eligible to join the register.
The scheme is part of NGN’s wider work supporting vulnerable households across the North of England.
Anyone that smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide should call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999. This line is in operation 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
