A housing charity in Rotherham has spoken of its gratitude after Dogs Trust delivered Christmas care parcels.
The charity is supporting dog owners experiencing homelessness through its Together Through Homelessness scheme, which provides parcels filled with collars, leads, coats and treats.
Target Housing Rotherham, which supports people across Yorkshire and the Humber, praised the scheme after receiving one of the more than 2,400 parcels distributed to 305 homelessness services across the UK.
Jayden Askham, housing support worker at Target Housing, said: "This generous initiative brings something truly special to the clients we support, celebrating the bond they share with their dogs and filling their homes with joy at a meaningful time of the year.
"We are deeply grateful to Dogs Trust for providing such a thoughtful and uplifting service, which makes a real difference to the people we support."
Each parcel includes collars, leads, coats and treats to help brighten the season for both dogs and their owners.
The Dogs Trust scheme also works year-round to help people experiencing homelessness keep their dogs by offering free veterinary care and encouraging homelessness services to be more dog-friendly.
Since it began, the programme has helped 93 services become pet-friendly and funded more than 33,000 treatments.
