More than £200,000 is being made available to help independent training providers across York and North Yorkshire.
York and North Yorkshire mayor David Skaith announced the new funding opportunity specifically for independent training providers across the region.
A total of £200,900 is available through the second phase of the Mayor’s Skills Innovation Fund, designed to support projects that benefit learners, employers and providers.
Mayor David Skaith said: "We’re giving our communities the tools they deserve to access the quality careers that our businesses need.
"With my Skills Innovation Fund we are already supporting more than 1,000 learners across three excellent programmes.
"Now in the second and final round we will work with independent providers to boost their capacity and help even more learners in the region."
Phase two focuses on strengthening the capabilities of independent providers to innovate and adapt their training to better meet regional needs.
Eligible projects could include upgrading facilities with advanced technology and developing teaching methods using immersive tools, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.
Applications are now open and will close on Friday, January 9, 2026.
