PEOPLE across the Keighley district are being urged to have their say on police funding for 2026-27.
A survey has been launched ahead of the West Yorkshire police precept being set for the next financial year.
Views are being sought on a potential increase which could see most households in council tax bands A-C paying an extra 19p to 26p a week.
Alison Lowe, West Yorkshire’s deputy mayor for policing and crime, says: "It's important everyone across the county gives their views on funding for our vital police services.
"We know neighbourhood policing and police visibility really matter to residents, and we're continually working to build public trust and confidence in the service.
"West Yorkshire Police is facing a funding gap of almost £10m in the next year, despite taking measures to reduce it.
"Funds raised by an increased precept would cut this by almost £3.5m, moving us towards a stronger financial position where we can continue to keep communities safe, just and inclusive."
She adds that in the past year, West Yorkshire has had the fourth lowest police precept level out of 42 forces in England and Wales.
