A NEW round of funding has opened to support repair cafes.
Energy-from-waste operator Enfinium is giving away £20,000 in the third year of its Repair Cafe Support Fund.
In 2025, Silsden Repair Cafe was among four across West Yorkshire to benefit, sharing grants totalling over £6,500.
Mike Maudsley, Enfinium's chief executive officer, says: "By empowering communities to repair rather than replace, repair cafes play an important role in reducing waste.
"We are proud to continue to support these impactful initiatives to help keep waste out of landfill."
Schemes within a 30-mile radius of the operator's Ferrybridge and Skelton Grange, Leeds, facilities can apply for grant aid.

Silsden Repair Cafe sees people take along broken items, from toasters and lamps to toys and jewellery, for the attention of its volunteer experts. Also, knives and tools can be sharpened.
The cafe is held on the third Saturday of every month at Silsden Methodist Church, between 9.30am-noon. The next is on January 17.
Launched in 2023, the project saved over 750 items from going to landfill in its first year or so alone.
