Dogs Trust Leeds says more dogs are still waiting to be adopted, despite more than 500 dogs finding new homes in 2025.
The charity says many more dogs are still waiting, with high demand expected to continue into 2026.
Emma Cooper, manager at Dogs Trust Leeds, said: "We're incredibly proud to have rehomed over 500 dogs in 2025, but every day we continue to care for many wonderful dogs who are still waiting to find their forever homes.
"As we look ahead to the rest of 2026, we know there is still so much work to be done.
"We'd love to welcome more people from across Yorkshire and the Humber to visit our centre, see our dogs and our dedicated team, and see first-hand how we match dogs with the right homes."
Visitors to the centre can learn about responsible dog ownership and explore the charity’s adoption process.
The team emphasises that finding the right match can take time, with applications remaining valid for three months.
One of the dogs currently looking for a home is Teddy, a 13-year-old Akita found as a stray in poor condition.
