PEOPLE across the Keighley district will pay more for their policing in the coming year.
West Yorkshire's police budget for 2026-27 has been set.
And members of the police and crime panel have approved a precept rise of just under 5.7 per cent.
The increase means households in bands A, B and C will pay between 19 and 26p a week more.
West Yorkshire mayor, Tracy Brabin, says a rise was supported by more than half of respondents during public consultation.
She adds: "People told us they value the work of West Yorkshire Police, want to see more visible policing in their communities and support further investment.
"This increase to the precept will significantly cut West Yorkshire Police’s funding gap, moving us towards a stronger financial position.
"I appreciate the public’s support for strengthening frontline policing, as it helps us continue working together towards a safer and fairer West Yorkshire.
"This enables the ongoing delivery of the Police and Crime Plan for 2024-28, which sets out joint ambitions and priorities for policing and community safety."
Chief Constable, Sir John Robins, says: "I'm grateful to the police and crime panel for supporting this increase in funding, which is essential to help sustain core policing services."
