A TAPESTRY inspired by the heritage of a Keighley mill is going on display.

The 6ft-tall Threads of Belonging artwork will be in the foyer of Keighley Market from next Saturday (March 14) until May 9.

A collaboration between residents and Keighley Creative, the piece is designed to be a reflection of Dalton Mills through the eyes of people in the town.

Textiles and creative coding were used to help participants present their stories in visual form.

Funding was provided by Innovate UK.

Tim Rogers – chief executive officer of Future Transformation, which was involved in the project– says: "Dalton Mills carries significant industrial and community heritage for the people of Keighley. We're really pleased that so many contributed to Threads of Belonging and produced this tapestry. We hope to add to it over time and capture more stories."

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw – Bradford Council’s executive member for regeneration, planning and transport – says: "We’re looking forward to welcoming this amazing tapestry to Keighley Market and showcasing the hard work of all those who contributed to its creation. We hope many people will come to see it over its two months on display."
