FUNDRAISING is underway in memory of a beloved guide dog which was named after Keighley.

Wayne Knighton's loyal Labrador died at the end of December, following a short illness.

The pair were devoted companions for just over seven years.

Now Wayne, who lives on the Isle of Man, is raising funds for Guide Dogs UK so that a puppy can be named in Keighley's honour.

An online fundraising page has been set up, at justgiving.com/page/inmemoryofkeighley

"I could give lots of stories about the good times myself and Keighley had and the difference he made," says Wayne.

"We are still healing from his loss, and as such are raising funds for Guide Dogs which will allow us to name a puppy in his memory."

Pooch Keighley was given the name after his first year of training was paid for thanks to a fundraising campaign led by Laurie Manley, from the town.
