Get up close with small animals at Pets at Home, Keighley

Youngsters are able to handle the likes of hamsters and guinea pigs during the Pet Pals sessions.

The 45-minute workshops are taking place throughout the Easter school holidays at Pets at Home, on Keighley Retail Park, Hard Ings Road.

Sessions also include a game where children learn about the social needs of different animals.

And youngsters receive activity sheets, certificates, headbands and stickers.

"These workshops offer a brilliant way for children to spend their half-term while learning how to care for pets responsibly," says a Pets at Home spokesperson.

"Over the years, nearly 900,000 children have participated in the Pet Pals programme."
