GROUPS have just one week left to apply for a round of funding to support community safety projects.
The Community Fund supports initiatives in York and North Yorkshire focused on prevention and early intervention, with the current application round closing on Thursday, April 23.
Jo Coles, deputy mayor for policing, fire and crime, said: "The Mayor's Community Fund provides valuable support for groups and organisations across the region, supporting 47 projects over the last two years.
"Last year, David Skaith, the Mayor, doubled the size of this pot, delivering more early intervention and prevention and creating more safe community spaces.
"If you have a project that will help to keep our communities safe and requires support, we would love to hear from you."
Applicants can seek funding from £500 up to £30,000 for projects that help communities "Be Safe and Feel Safe."
One recent recipient was the Pathfinders U17 driving course, which offers a week of off-road training for 15 to 17-year-olds.
Ian Goring, Yorkshire coordinator at Pathfinders U17, said: "The Community Fund is helping to support the next generation of drivers, providing them with skills and experience before they get on the road, keeping themselves and their loved ones safe."
