A SERIES of free walks is being held for older people across the district.

Age UK Bradford District is staging the initiative, as part of the national Wellbeing Walks programme, delivered in partnership with The Ramblers.

Initially walks are taking place at Shipley and Allerton, but over the coming months will be expanded to areas including Keighley.

Mark Rounding, chief executive officer of Age UK Bradford District, says: "We want to make it as easy as possible for older people to get out, get moving and meet others in their community.

"These walks are designed to be accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of experience or fitness level.

"Each walk lasts under an hour."

* The first two walks are: Tuesday, April 21 – Roberts Park Circular, meeting at Saltaire railway station at 11am; and Thursday, April 23, Chellow Dean Circular, meeting at the Age UK Bradford District Allerton Hub (BD15 7BN) at 1pm.
