Families set off on a bear hunt through the woods as part of a book-themed adventure day.

Organised at Damems Woodland and inspired by the children’s story We're Going on a Bear Hunt, the event invited families to follow a themed trail and search for hidden teddy bears.

Each family received a free copy of the book to take home.

Keighley Town Councillor Martin Crangle said: "It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the woodland, spending quality time together and taking part in activities that encourage both reading and outdoor exploration.

"Events like this help create lasting memories for children while bringing our community together."

After completing the trail, families enjoyed a picnic and children met a life-sized bear at the finish line.

Keighley Town Councillor Ellen Bailey said: "The smiles on the children's faces throughout the trail were fantastic to see.

"We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success."

Both councillors supported the event and engaged with families throughout the day.

The activity was funded by The National Lottery Awards for All programme and backed by the Bradford Road Safety Team.

The event formed part of ongoing efforts to promote literacy, wellbeing and outdoor learning within the community.
