A ROAD in Haworth is set to close temporarily for more than a month.
Sun Street will be shut due to Northern Powergrid works.
The closure is between Woodlands Rise and Bridgehouse Lane.
It starts on September 18 and is expected to last until October 22, but could be extended to 18 months if necessary.
Pedestrians will still be able to use the road, and vehicles involved in the works will also be allowed access.
Alternative routes for affected vehicles include other sections of Sun Street, Marsh Lane, Moorside Lane, Reservoir Road, Sun Lane, West Lane, North Street, and Rawdon Road.
Bradford Council announced the closure under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
In another road closure, Clayton Rise in Keighley will be closed for water works.
The order applies to all traffic from outside No. 2 to outside No. 32, with exceptions for vehicles involved in the works.
The closure will be in effect from 7am on September 28 until 7pm on October 2, though the council has warned it could last up to 18 months if necessary.
Pedestrian access will remain unaffected, but no alternative routes for vehicles will be available.
In a separate notice, a Keighley company has applied to expand its goods vehicle fleet.
Chippindale Plant Limited, based on Valley Road, wants to add two more vehicles to its operating centre.
Currently, the company is permitted to operate three goods vehicles and two trailers.
If the application is successful, it will increase the fleet to five goods vehicles, while maintaining the same number of trailers.
Residents or businesses neighbouring the operating centre can submit written representations to the Traffic Commissioner within 21 days of the notice, which was published on September 17.
