Four care homes raise £1,200 through summer fete season

Spellman Care organised the events across its four care homes: Craven Nursing Home, Ghyll Royd Care Home, Springbank Care Home, and Steeton Court Nursing Home.

Funds raised will support resident activities and selected charities.

Philippa Young, group operations manager at Spellman Care, said: "Our summer fetes are always a highlight of the year, and it was wonderful to see residents, families, colleagues and local communities coming together across all four homes.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed their time, energy and generosity, helping us raise more than £1,200 for residents' activities and the charities our homes are proud to support."

Each care home hosted a themed event featuring entertainment, food, stalls, and music.

Highlights included Ghyll Royd's Secret Garden Country Fete, Craven's 60s Funk Summer Fete, Springbank's 'Dancing Through the Decades' event, and Steeton Court's Alice in Wonderland celebration.

The events brought together residents, families, staff, and members of the wider community.

Spellman Care is now planning its next charitable appeal, which will involve collecting unneeded spectacles for the Keighley Lions Club.

The care group has operated in the area for more than 35 years and remains family-run.
