People in Keighley are being urged to talk openly about mental health and seek support if they need to.

Health professionals across Bradford District and Craven are encouraging conversations ahead of World Mental Health Day on October 10, reminding the public that help is always available.

Dr Junaid Azam, a GP in Bradford, said: "We know taking that first step can feel quite daunting, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

"Whether you need a listening ear from someone you trust or professional help, it all starts with a conversation."

NHS Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies is one of the services highlighted as easily accessible support.

Naomi Holdsworth, Operations Service Manager, NHS Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies, said: "Anyone feeling low, anxious or stressed can access support through NHS Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies.

"Having that initial conversation with a healthcare professional can feel as though a weight has been lifted from your shoulders."

The service offers a range of options including group courses, telephone support and one-to-one therapy sessions.

Ms Holdsworth also pointed to the Talking Therapies website, which offers a range of free guides and tools to help people manage life’s ups and downs.
