A CARE home is offering 24-hour support to frontline workers with refreshments and a place to rest.

Townend Close in Cross Hills, Keighley is inviting emergency crews, district nurses and community nursing teams to drop in at any time of day or night for a hot or cold drink and something to eat.

The gesture is an initiative launched by residents and staff to thank those who care for, protect and support people across the local community.

Samantha Richardson, home manager at Townend Close, said: "We all know how hard our emergency services and healthcare professionals work and how much we rely on them.

"We wanted to thank them for everything they do to protect and support our community.

"This is our way of giving something back, and we want local frontline teams to know they will always receive a warm welcome at Townend Close."

Care staff have also prepared grab-and-go snack bags for those unable to stop during their shifts.

Visitors are welcome to take a short break inside the home or collect refreshments to go.

Townend Close offers residential and specialist dementia care for up to 39 residents.

It provides short-term stays, respite care and permanent placements.
