Both carriageways of the Aire Valley trunk road near Cross Hills were closed yesterday teatime as firefighters tackled a burning Fiat Multipla.
Police shut the lanes as smoke billowed across them from the blazing vehicle.
The incident happened at 5.10pm.
The road was reopened within an hour.
