Mum-of-one Anna Laskey thought her engagement ring was lost for good when she realised she had left it on the floor of a holiday lodge.

The 22-year-old had taken it off when changing the nappy of her nine-month- old baby, Lucy, at Faweather Grange holiday park in High Eldwick, near Bingley.

Two days later, at home near Selby, she suddenly realised it was lost.

She and her fiance Jonathan Thompson, 28, a production operative, had spent a long weekend at the holiday park.

Anna immediately phoned the park’s owner, Debbie Skinn, who contacted her cleaners, On the Mark, based in West Bowling, Bradford.

Miraculously, the ring was discovered after a search through a vacuum cleaner bag.

“I was so relieved. The cleaners did a fantastic job,” said Anna.

Mrs Skinn said she called the cleaning company as soon as Anna called her. “They started looking straight away and amazingly found it. It’s a wonderfully happy ending,” she said.

On the Mark manager Mark Morris said: “We’ve got 25 vacuum cleaners, so when I got the call I thought ‘okay, I don’t see much chance’.

“But luckily, we discovered that one of the vacs that came away from the holiday park was still with the cleaners and we were able to find it."
