The recently-formed pensioners’ association is appealing for funds.

Keighley Pensioners' Association needs money for rent, office equipment and stationery. Members recently received a grant from Keighley Area Committee’s Community Chest to buy a computer.

They have spent several months devising policies and activities which they will implement in the New Year They will campaign against cuts to pensioners’ living standards, help people in difficulty, and meet community groups on Keighley estates.

The association was formed last September from the ashes of the Keighley Pensioner’s Action Group.

A spokesman said: “We have a wealth of experience behind us.”

Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at 35 Devonshire Street, from 1pm. Call Pip Gibson on 07587 210101.
