Mobility scooters ridden from Yorkshire to Torquay to raise money for Manorlands are now being auctioned off to boost funds.
Six Young Farmers, including two from the Worth Valley club (pictured left), travelled 301 miles in a week on the scooters to reach the South coast in time for their organisation’s national AGM.
Their marathon effort, using scooters supplied by Keighley-based Freerider UK, raised more than £3,500 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice. Now the donated scooters have been put up for auction on eBay.
Among the Young Farmers who took part in the challenge was Andrew Wood, a Manorlands fundraiser. He said: “We are very grateful to all our sponsors but for Freerider to donate the scooters is a huge boost.”
