A Cross Hills school has given a rare performance of Gary Barlow’s diamond jubilee song, Sing.
All 111 pupils at Malsis School joined in the rendition, which was the highlight of the school’s summer concert at the weekend.
The sheet music for Sing has not yet been officially distributed.
Glenda McKenna, head of drama at the school, said: “Malsis is one of very few schools in the whole of the United Kingdom which have been able to sing Gary Barlow’s wonderful song in public.
“I am lucky enough to have a great contact within Weinbergers, the London-based musical publishers and licensing agents, who sent me the sheet music of Sing, which enabled us to perform it.”
Headmaster Marcus Peel said: “Although the performance of Sing was the highlight of the concert, we were all thrilled by the standard of the rest of the music and the musicians. They should be very proud of themselves.”
