A FESTIVE appeal has received a lift thanks to a Steeton firm.
Acorn Stairlifts has again pledged its backing to the annual Mission Christmas initiative.
And it is urging the public to rally round.
Mission Christmas distributes gifts to youngsters through organisations and charities including Barnados, Social Services and Candlelighters.
Acorn is encouraging its own staff to donate and is asking people to drop off items at its Millennium Business Park base in Station Road, Steeton.
Gifts can be for a boy or girl, of any age from baby to 18, and should be unwrapped.
The company has also produced posters and fliers promoting the appeal, to send to other businesses and primary schools across South Craven.
Last year, Acorn collected more than 250 gifts and staff also raised £300.
Facilities manager, Rachel Shaw, said: "Mission Christmas is a fantastic appeal, bringing joy to thousands of children at a special time of year.
"We're delighted to get behind it."
