KEIGHLEY Laboratories has achieved recognition for the quality of its service to the aerospace industry.

The company, based on South Street, has extended the number of its processes receiving approval from prestigious quality-control body Nadcap.

Keighley Labs last year added Nadcap accreditation to its Heat Treatment department, and has now extended the scope of accreditation to include Chemical Analysis, Alpha Case and Nitride Depth Determinations, and Compression Testing.

The accreditation process includes an intensive six-day technical audit involving all the Material Testing Laboratory employees to varying degrees.

Tim Clegg, Quality Manager at Keighley Labs, said the accreditation was a great all-round effort by our Technical Services team.

He said: “The Nadcap accreditation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry specifications.

“It enables us to support our prime approvals and aerospace customers including Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Bombardier, British Aerospace and Safran.”

Joe Pinto, executive vice-president at the Performance Review Institute, responsible for overseeing Nadcap, said that achieving the accreditation was not easy.

He added: “It is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel at manufacturing quality product through superior special processes. Keighley Laboratories worked hard to obtain this status and they should be justifiably proud of it.”
