A BUSINESS club launched six months ago is proving a huge success.

The 100 Club was set-up as part of the #GiveBradford campaign, which has seen businesses and donors across the district come together to help disadvantaged communities.

Donors are offered advice on the best ways to give in order to create positive changes and improve people's lives.

The initiative forms an element of the Leeds Community Foundation, which has invested more than £3.8m in Bradford district since 2012, benefitting 155,000 people.

The foundation has also identified £4 million of funding that can be used across the district in the coming years.

A key part of the campaign is the 100 Club, a scheme for businesses and individuals to invest in the foundation.

A host of businesses and organisations has pledged support, including Keighley social housing group Incommunities and Bradford Council.

Matthew Roberts, head of development at #GiveBradford, said: "We're delighted at the support.

"It's a real vote of confidence in what we're trying to achieve but also gives our work greater credibility and visibility, which encourages new donors to set-up their own named funds with us.

"Supporters of the 100 Club have access to events throughout the year where they can network with like-minded individuals and meet the community groups which do such fantastic work on the frontline."

A named fund allows businesses and individuals that wish to give back to the community to invest money, which the #GiveBradford campaign then manages, helping the donor to direct the money to charities and projects which match the donor's values.

Mr Roberts added: "Think of it as a charitable bank account or a cost-saving alternative to establishing your own charity, foundation or trust.

"Your named fund can remain anonymous, or you may wish to name it after your family or business, or honour the memory of a loved one.

"Whatever you choose to name your fund, there is a range of flexible options to select from.

"We believe that giving is one of the most personal and meaningful things you can do in your lifetime and the way you give tells your story; it can reflect your passions, the lessons you've learned, the sacrifices you've made and the good fortune you've had."

The foundation offers a range of different options, from initial investments of £10,000 to £50,000.

Any businesses or individuals who would like to get involved with the Bradford 100 Club and the #GiveBradford campaign should visit bradford.org.uk for further information about how to sign-up.

Incommunities group chief executive, Geraldine Howley, said she was delighted at the organisation's involvement.

"We are excited by the community foundation model and #GiveBradford as a means of bringing like-minded businesses together," she added.

"Incommunities has a proud track record of supporting charities and local causes and we are committed to building new partnerships, that strengthen community cohesion and tackle inequalities."
