A GROWING sportswear firm is moving into new premises.

Falcon Sportswear Ltd has bought a site at Crossflatts, with backing from the Barclays Northern Powerhouse fund.

The family-run Bradford company is carrying out a phased move to Dempster Works, in Croft Road.

"We’re a business that has grown strongly over time and we need larger premises to continue with our exciting plans," said directors Paul and Mike Brumfitt.

"We are delighted to be able to benefit from the Barclays Northern Powerhouse fund.

"The new premises will enable us to increase our stock holdings, introduce new lines and take on more customers.

"We’re really ready to drive for the future success of the business."

Falcon, established in 1975, specialises in school sportswear.

Jagdeep Singh, relationship director at Barclays, put together the seven-figure funding package for the deal.

He said: "At Barclays we’re delighted to be able to help businesses grow, and the Northern Powerhouse fund is the perfect vehicle for firms looking for new opportunities and requiring flexible funding options.

"The team at Falcon Sportswear really impressed me with its professionalism, vast background experience in the sector and most importantly its burning desire to succeed."

The £500m Northern Powerhouse fund was established to inject investment into small and medium-sized enterprises across the north of England.
