A HOUSEBUILDER with schemes across the Keighley area is urging more women to consider a career in the industry.
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West – whose schemes include Vision at Braithwaite and Saxon Dene, Silsden – sponsored this year’s Women in Property summer networking event.
The company contributed £1,500 towards the staging of the event, which was organised by its strategic land manager, Jennifer Winyard. She is former chairman of Women in Property in Yorkshire and the North East and the current mentoring co-ordinator.
“The event was an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of women in the sector and encourage others to follow suit,” she said.
“It was fantastic to welcome so many people to the event and we look forward to seeing more women expand their careers within the industry.”
Ian Ruthven, managing director of Barratt Developments, said the company was “really proud” to support the venture. “We hope it will increase awareness of the opportunities available within the industry and encourage more women to consider the numerous career paths available,” he added.
