WENDY Spencer – chief executive officer of Keighley-based Airedale Enterprise Services – has been recognised in the inaugural national Levelling Up Awards.
She received the Extending Enterprise Award after being nominated by Keighley MP Robbie Moore.
Organisations across the UK were put forward – by MPs, businesses and others – for accolades in 14 different award categories.
The initiative recognises bodies committed to creating a ‘level playing field’ for people to achieve life and job opportunities as Britain recovers from the pandemic.
Categories include successful school years, health and wellbeing and closing the digital divide.
Mr Moore, who is parliamentary chairman of the Levelling Up Goals group, said: “It was a great pleasure to nominate Wendy and of course the whole Airedale Enterprise Services team for the Levelling Up Award in Extending Enterprise.
“In over 30 years, Wendy and her team have supported more than 20,000 businesses and individuals to help them achieve their full potential. Airedale Enterprise Services is certainly a crucial service in the Keighley district and embodies the essence of the levelling up agenda.”
