A PUPIL at a Keighley school has shone in the London Special Olympics.
Seth Balson was among a group of athletes from Bradford Disability Sport & Leisure (BDSL) which competed in the event, at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.
The ten-year-old, who attends Beckfoot Phoenix Special School, won a gold medal in the 60 metres sprint.
Earlier in the day he had finished sixth in the standing long jump and, with five teammates, earned silver in the shuttle run relay.
"Everyone at Beckfoot Phoenix congratulates Seth for his wonderful achievement – we're very proud of him," said a school spokesman.
"He has been attending an all-ability athletics club run by BDSL for nearly three years now and his determination shone through at the event."
He added: "Seth joined our school in September and has made great progress. He has really blossomed."
