YOUNGSTERS from a Keighley primary school took part in a trip to an outdoor activities centre.

The year-four Nessfield pupils tackled a range of pursuits during their visit, to Nell Bank at Ilkley.

As part of the Linking Schools initiative, the children were paired with pupils from Heaton St Barnabas Primary in Bradford.

Activities included a forest walk and scavenger hunt and they enjoyed an adventure playground.

Fiona Crichton, support assistant at Nessfield Primary, said: "The children had a wonderful time.

"The leaders were fantastic and the activities were so well thought-out that it really helped the pupils to join with others they didn't know and work incredibly well together, forming new friendships and developing life skills.

"The year-fours will continue their journey with the Linking Schools network throughout the rest of the year."
