A CAFE with branches in Keighley and Skipton has launched a New Year donation and collection drive to support foodbanks in both these towns.

The Cake 'Ole, which has its Keighley cafe in the Royal Arcade, says people wanting to donate unwanted food or warm clothing can drop these items off at either one of its premises.

This business will then match these donations with its own offering of food or clothing, before dispatching the goods to one of the foodbanks it has linked up with.

The Cake 'Ole is owned and managed by partners Richard Wilson and Neil Senior.

Mr Wilson said: "Our cafe has been welcomed in both Skipton and Keighley so we wanted to give something back to the community. It's our way of saying 'thank you'.

"We did some charity events last year, and the year before we sponsored young carers, so this time we've decided to help foodbanks.

"It's something we're doing throughout January but we can continue for as long as people want to keep donating.

"They can donate anonymously, or we can give them a mention on our Facebook page. We've already had items handed in at our Skipton cafe."
