MIRANDA Biddle is the new regional director for the police watchdog body.
Her role with the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) will include overseeing investigations within the West Yorkshire force.
She has worked in the criminal justice system for more than 25 years, latterly as director of operations with the parole board.
"I am very much looking forward to working at the IOPC and all the opportunities and challenges that I'm sure will come with it," she said.
"Over the coming weeks I'll be meeting with police forces, Police and Crime Commissioners and community groups throughout the region.
"I bring with me a wealth of experience from my years within the criminal justice environment and hope to lend this to the important work of the IOPC in improving confidence in the police complaints system."
