KEIGHLEY Ramblers have a packed programme of walks lined-up.

And the group is inviting new recruits to join it.

Forthcoming outings include an 8.5-mile walk, around Threshfield Moor in the Yorkshire Dales, on Sunday, March 18.

Alex Gardner, for Keighley Ramblers, said: "Despite the recent 'beast from the east' and all the doom and gloom that seems to fill our TV screens nowadays, we've decided as a group to go out and enjoy our walking as much as possible in 2018.

"We know from our own experiences that a day out in the fresh air clears the head of any depressing and stressful thoughts.

"In fact it is now well documented by leading medical authorities that obesity, diabetes and some mental health problems can all be reduced by regular exercise.

"And going for a walk doesn't need to cost a lot. A decent pair of boots, an anorak and a rucksack for your food and drinks are the only basic requirements.

"The public rights of way are free for everyone to use, and the Ramblers know their way around most of them.

"Our walks are led by experienced people, so all you have to do is enjoy the wonderful scenery and join in the friendly discussions that go on within the group."
