Wharfedale Triangle League Premier Division: Cullingworth 3 Ilkley Dynamo 2

CULLINGWORTH gave one of their best performances of the season to claim their first win of the league campaign.

That was despite playing the first half with ten players before an additional player made a full complement at half-time – only for him to be dismissed with 15 minutes to go.

Both teams missed chances before Stuart Blues put Dynamo ahead. However, Youth refused to let their heads drop and led 2-1 by the break thanks to a 25-yard cracker from Ben Crispin and a goal from Joshua Town.

A penalty from Joel Hardy increased their advantage after the break and, though Sam Westerman pulled a goal back for Dynamo, Cullingworth held firm for victory.

But for an excellent display by the visiting keeper, Youth's win could have been by more.

Cullingworth's man of the match was Kyle Fox, who had come out of retirement to help lift them off bottom spot and above Dynamo.

Youth will aim to build on this success at home to Old Ball FC on Sunday.

Keighley Town, who had no game last week, host St John Fisher Old Boys in the second round of the West Riding County FA Sunday Cup this weekend.

Town still top the Premier Division by the smallest of margins after neighbours Keighley Athletic drew level with them on points with an emphatic 7-2 win at home to Yeadon Athletic.

Both teams have won six out of six, with Town having a better goal difference by one.

Keighley Athletic head to Salts in the County Cup on Sunday.
