'COUGAR pies for Cougars tries' is the slogan as local butcher's C&L Herd sponsor the Keighley Cougars and their mascot Freddie Cougar for the 2018 season.

The sponsorship will see the Queens Road butcher's produce on sale at Cougar Park. Their brand will also appear on both club staff wear and mascot Freddie, with the business also donating a new Freddie suit to the club.

C&L Herd owner and local councillor Chris Herd said: “A big part of Keighley as a community is the Keighley Cougars and that is why we felt it was important as a business and as Keighley locals to support the club.

“Our aim is to take Freddie Cougar into the schools to hand out sausage rolls to children and promote the club, the business and sport as a whole locally.

“The club implements superb local initiatives such as free entry to all games for Under 18s.

“This means children get into the games for free which allows the club to build its profile in the community and build its supporter base for the future."

Supporters can sample some of C&L Herd’s produce and see Freddie Cougar in action at the Cougars' next home game against Whitehaven on Sunday, April 29.
