Kippax 0

Oxenhope 2

GOALS from Tommy Marshall and Dan Moriarty saw Oxenhope grab the points at Kippax in West Yorkshire League Division One.

Oxenhope went in to the game missing three of their usual back four but its was Oxenhope who started the brightest of the two teams with good play down both flanks and the two wide men Marshall and Danny Driver putting some threatening balls into the box early on with Reilly and Moriarty coming close.

The deadlock was broken 10 minutes before the break when a marauding Marshall broke down the left, cut inside and smashed home at the near post.

The second half started much like the first, with Oxenhope in control.

Luke Scott and Ben White worked tirelessly in midfield keeping Kippax at bay. Joe Jalil and Dan Scott at the back were dominant in the air when Kippax tried to play the long ball as they looked more and more desperate in trying to breakdown the back four.

With 15 minutes to go the visitors decided to juggle the pack and move Driver up top with Moriarty and Jake Scott coming in and slotting in on the right-hand side.

This proved to be pivotal as Bailey found Driver with a diagonal ball which he nodded in to the path of Moriarty who beat his man and slammed home.
