WITH everything done & dusted in Division One (Ciroc are champions, Greenfield runners-up and Shelf and Thornton relegated), attention on the final day of the Bradford & District Evening League season turned to Division Two, where Undercliffe claimed the Championship ahead of Buttershaw St Paul's, and Muff Field celebrated their first Evening League victory.

Undercliffe were finally able to shake off Buttershaw to confirm themselves as champions in their debut season, with an eight-wicket home victory over fellow new boys Ingrow.

Tight bowling managed to restrict the visitors to Intake Road to 68-7 from their 16 overs.

Then opener Michael Kelsey completed a fine season with the bat by adding 41 not out to his average as Undercliffe passed their target on 71-2 with 3.2 overs to spare.

The shock of the day came at Bradshaw Lane, where the Halifax League outfit smashed an impressive 170-6 from 16 overs against Bradford Leaguers Buttershaw St Paul's.

Despite being at home, Bradshaw still batted first as the 'away side' following the venue being moved from St Paul's as their ground was being used for a junior cup semi-final.

Openers Adam Spendelow (54no) and Piers Fisher (30) put on 93, with James Sawyer doing his best to stem the flow of runs by taking 4-21 from his four overs.

In reply, St Paul's openers Jordan Laban (47) and Simon McDermott (40) almost matched their opponents by putting on 79 but, despite support from Adil Mehmood (39), they fell 14 runs short on 156-6.

Azeems ended their first season on a high with a 25-run success against Cross Roads & Daisy Hill at Windhill.

Fine knocks from Mohammed Naveed (37no), Naveed Hussain (31no) and Mohammed Mansha (30) saw the visitors finish on 141-5, which proved too many for the hosts, who finished on 116-5 (Josh Butterfield 43no, Adam Swaine 22no).

Muff Field unexpectedly broke their duck with a four-run victory over Great Horton Park Chapel at Ewart Street.

Park Chapel were without their Baildon overseas all-rounder Blair Oakley, and Interlink's Ebrahim Bismillah (53no) and Alan Broadbent (28) helped the basement side to 137-7 from their 16 overs.

Bismillah then capped a fine all-round performance by taking 4-26 to restrict Park Chapel to 133-9 as skipper Dom Anderson, primarily a bowler, top-scored with 42 having promoted himself to opener as Darren Wilson weighed in with a further 29.

Top score of the day came in Division One as John Breare blasted 186-4 from 16 overs as Ben Waller (54no) and Cieran Garner (50no) both helped themselves to retirements, and Kiwi overseas Tim Pryce added a further 26 against Thornton.

In reply, Ryan Brooksbank (50no) and Kris Hackshall (27) joined in the run fest as the Hill Top side ended their season with a more than respectable 136-7.

Closest finish of the day came at Ryshworth Park, where Ciroc posted what they thought must have been a match- winning 139-4 from 16 overs (Hamza Iqbal 36, Siraj Hussain 31, Ismail Dawood 27), especially with their bowling attack.

Victory must have seemed assured when Flatts were reduced to 65-6, with Zeeshan Haider taking 4-25.

However, contributions from A Raza (30), Husarm Khalid (29) and Ronnie Chokununga (25) got Flatts to within two runs of victory with one ball remaining.

Nadeem Safdar then became the hero of the hour as he despatched Durham Academy spinner Adam Ahmed for six to give Flatts victory on 144-7 and inflict only the second defeat of the season on the champions.

Relegated Shelf also pulled off an upset by defeating Greenfield at the Karmand Centre after posting 148-4 as Saltaire's overseas Zahid Nissar hit 50 not out.

Nissar then took 4-23 and Mohammed Pandor 3-33 as Greenfield were restricted to 125-7 (Sajad Ali 50no).

The final game was a low-key, low-scoring mid-table affair as Raja's visited Denholme.

Raja's posted what seemed to be a below-par 95-9 (Mohammed Saqib 24, Abe Kenny 3-22) and this proved to be the case as the home side passed their target on 98-7 (Harvey Lockwood 28, Richard Wear 25, Adam Zaid 4-24) with 3.3 overs to spare.
