THIS weekend sees the start of the Bradford & District FA Saturday Senior Cup, running alongside the County Amateur League Premier Division games.

Littletown will be looking to maintain the top spot by extending their unbeaten start to seven games and complete the double over their Premier Division visitors Bradford Olympic who, with second-half goals from Joe Jagger and Pat Sykes, beat 2-1 two weeks ago.

Second-placed Golcar United will make the first of two scheduled visits to last season’s Division One champions Ovenden West Riding tomorrow in the league before they clash in the League Cup in October.

Route One Rovers have moved their home game against League newcomers Ryburn United to the 3G pitch at Calderdale College in Halifax, as their regular home ground at Esholt is still being used for cricket.

Wibsey, who won the Bradford FA Saturday Senior Cup last season, and Campion, who were the beaten finalists, have a bye into round two.

The first round of this season’s competition gets under way with two sides, TVR United of the County Amateur League and Idle FC of Yorkshire Amateur League, both having won all their opening games in their respective leagues, meeting at the Zara Centre.

Tyersal and Hunsworth, when members of the County Amateur League played each other frequently, will now clash at Arkwright Street, while St Bedes and Salts Reserves will play each other at Southfield Grange.
