KEIGHLEY Cougars Women’s have continued their recruitment drive with the signing of Australian half-back Caity Clifton.

Clifton joins the Cougars from Queensland-based outfit Normanby Hounds and arrives in the UK along with men’s first team new recruit Jacob Thomas at the end of November.

Speaking of Clifton’s signing, Women’s head coach Dean Muir said: “To sign a half of this quality to support what we have already got shows how far the club has come in such a short period of time.

“Playing behind the strong pack we are starting to recruit, this will Caity to flourish in our teams and system.

“Caity is a natural elusive runner on and off the ball and somebody who will excite the Cougars fans and but bums on seats which this women’s team truly deserve to have.

“She will be arriving in the UK with Jacob Thomas who has been signed by the men’s first team and it again shows the family values we hold dear here at Keighley Cougars.

“I’m looking forward to meeting Caity when she arrives in the country and begins training at the start of December.”

Anyone who is interested in trialling with the women’s team should contact the club. The trials date is Sunday, November 18, with a start time of 9.30am.
