YORKSHIRE Carnegie Under-18 Academy will play their second academy league game against Sale Sharks this Friday night “on the road” at Keighley RUFC.

Both sides contain junior international players and both teams won their first round games so it is expected to be a great match.

A number of players in the teams also originate from the local area, and Wharfedale RUFC's Madison Hunting features in the Yorkshire Carnegie side.

For the first time in the club's history (including as Leeds Tykes), the Yorkshire Under-18 team played at Headingley last weekend and overpowered and outplayed Worcester Warriors, meanwhile Sale Sharks beat Wasps.

"We have a good history as a club of taking games on the road, both the senior team and our junior teams," said a spokesman for Yorkshire Carnegie. "Keighley RUFC have always been a welcoming club and they make the games they host a fantastic all-round event.

"Keighley also have a close history with players and staff from the club and area progressing to play and/or work at Yorkshire Carnegie.

"Teams for the Friday night game will be announced through the week and we are hoping to generate some real interest around the game and get a big crowd down from both sides of the Pennines to support their respective teams."

Kick-off it at 7.30pm.
