Steeton 2

Garstang 2

STEETON claimed a point when Callum Meade stepped off the bench for a 92nd-minute leveller in this Hallmark Security League Division One North clash.

Steeton had the better of the early chances and Ben Clarkson headed James Gorgan’s cross against the crossbar and Andy Briggs fired just wide at Cougar Park last night.

However, it was the visitors that took the lead when Jonny Hothersall pounced on 15 minutes, the lead lasted on three minutes before Briggs equalised.

The visitors regained the lead just before half time with a thunderbolt from Billy McKenna that left Fletcher Paley with no chance in the Steeton goal.

Despite applying pressure in the second half and Briggs heading against the bar, it looked as if the home side's efforts would come to nothing.

It was set up for late drama as Aaron Davis weaved his way past a couple of players and pulled the ball across the six-yard box for Meade to apply the finishing touch and claim his first Steeton goal.
