SILSDEN finally got the chance to build on their excellent away win at leaders City Of Liverpool and they did it in style as they banked another maximum on the road in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division.

The Cobbydalers traded six goals with hosts Squires Gate in the first half but a 70th-minute strike from Aidan Kirby saw them snatch the win, a second on the spin against a side above them in the league.

The home side sized the initiative when James Boyd opened the scoring in the third minute, but Arley Barnes hit back in the ninth minute.

Niall Sultan put the Cobbydalers in front just before the half hour but Ric Seear equalised.

Danny Forrest’s men edged in front again through Chris Wademan, but Ricardo Egidi netted on the stroke of half time to send the teams into the break on level terms.

Kirby’s winner saw the Cobbydalers leapfrog Gate and pushed them to the 40-point barrier as they reclaimed a place in the top half of the table.

Steeton shared four goals with Daisy Hill in Division One North but needed a stoppage time equaliser to snatch a draw against their relegation threatened hosts.

The first half was goalless but the game sprung into life midway through the second period when Ben Clarkson rounded the home keeper before slotting in to give the Chevrons the lead.

That advantage lasted little more than a minute as Ash Stott levelled for the home side who had taken four points from their previous three games as they fight to beat the drop.

They would have thought they were in for another three priceless points after Lewis Wilkinson gave them a 73rd-minute lead but their hopes were dashed as Clarkson bagged his brace with a glancing header two minutes into time added on.
