BRADFORD City Women face possibly their biggest game of the season tomorrow with the visit of Sheffield FC Ladies to the Mitton Group Stadium.

City’s midweek game at Guiseley was postponed on the day, while their relegation rivals had mixed fortunes.

Doncaster Rovers Belles claimed a creditable 2-2 draw at home to high-flying Huddersfield Town on Wednesday, while Sheffield lost 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest on Thursday.

Sheffield sit second-bottom – one place but a massive 10 points ahead of City who have two games in hand over the visitors. A win for the Bantams would put them back in the hunt for survival from the drop.

Last weekend’s defeat to Forest saw two new signings added to the starting line-up, with Beth Walker and Sophie Parrish coming in to strengthen the Bantams defence.

Manager Steve Winterburn experimented with some changes to formation and personnel, with Maisie Norde pushed into midfield, and Harriet Jakeman starting up front after spending most of the season in central defence.

City dominated the game for large periods but were unable to find a way through the visitors’ well-organised back line.

Winterburn was keen to hail his players’ work-rate and dedication. He said “I’d like to praise the players who are attending training on a regular basis and are showing a great attitude and willingness to work hard through these tough times."

He added: "Things are improving and things will get better.”

Bradford have no new injury concerns. Following the departure of Demi Pringle and Olivia Taylor the only long-term absentee is Keegan Lambert.

Physio Riz Khanom continues to monitor defender Jen Clark, who is playing through long-term muscle tears and limped off after 32 minutes against Forest.

Off the field, the club are looking to add to their media team for next season. Anyone interested in volunteering can email info@bradfordcitywomensfc.co.uk

Elsewhere, Bradford (Park Avenue) finally return to league action this weekend with a Women's County Premier game at Horsfall Stadium. Visitors Tingley won at Leeds Medics, and Avenue are expecting another tough game.

Silsden are away at Brayton, who had a narrow 4-3 League Cup victory against Huddersfield Amateur.

Skipton, who have ambitions of finishing fourth in the first division, entertain Republica, Thackley host Dewsbury, and Tyersal are at home to Boroughbridge.

In the second division, Farsley Junior First are on the road at joint leaders Ossett, with their Reserves hosting Durkar at Woodhall. Phoenix play Leeds United's development side at Laisteridge Lane.

In the midweek games, Huddersfield drew with Doncaster as Lucy Sowerby and Sarah Dobby brought them back from 2-0 down. Leeds United beat Norton 3-1 through Rebecca Hunt, Holly Findlay and Catherine Hammill.
