A KEIGHLEY-born professional footballer has been nominated for a prestigious fans' prize for a second successive month.

Matty Pearson, 25, who plays for Luton Town, has been shortlisted for the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans' League One player of the month prize for February.

His performances in defence have helped guide the Hatters five points clear at the top of League One.

He faces competition from his own team-mate after James Collins was also nominated for the prize for a second successive month.

They have both helped Harford's side picking up 11 points from five games, notably securing important results against Sunderland, Peterborough and Portsmouth.

Pearson helped Town to three wiuns out of four to an unbeaten February. This included clean sheets in his side's clashes with Shrewsbury Town and Wycombe Wanderers.

The Luton duo are against Burton Albion's Bradley Collins, Sunderland's Aiden McGeady, Doncaster Rovers' Mallik Wilks and Cauley Woodrow of Barnsley.

Fans have until 8am tomorrow to vote in the poll. Go to footballfancast.com/pfa-awards to vote.
