Dearne Valley 0 Keighley Albion Ladies 96
AGAIN Albion travelled away with a depleted squad of ten to Dearne Valley in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup Plate.
They were expecting a tough match with such low numbers but they romped to victory and booked their place in the final against East Leeds at Featherstone Rovers on Easter Sunday.
Despite blizzard conditions, Keighley arrived with a positive attitude and took control from the kick-off.
They managed to show some great skill and determination as a well-worked unit, with tries coming from some great executed moves.
Dearne Valley never crossed the Albion defensive line and they threw in the towel after 60 minutes.
Amy Illingworth converted 14 tries and also scored one herself.
Emma Templeton (3), Hollie Haigh (2), Jodee Loader (2), Laura Ackroyd (3) and Sarah Shillito were all among the tries while player of the match Saima Hussain claimed an impressive six.
Every player played their heart out in front of the travelling Albion supporters.
Albion are recruiting, with training taking place on Thursdays at South Craven School (8-9pm). All abilities welcome.
