TWO fans from opposite sides joined forces on a charity run from Odsal Stadium to Cougar Park before Sunday's big Challenge Cup derby.

Cougars supporter Mick Riddiough, aged 50 from Steeton, and Bulls fan Nick Pyrah, 45 from Steeton, completed the distance from Bradford to Keighley in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Silsden's Nigel Moscardini joined them, having also run the Keighley 10k earlier that morning.

They are all friends of former Cougars captain Phil Stephenson, who was diagnosed with the disease in June 2017.

The trio were welcomed on the pitch at Cougar Park by players before watching the match, which saw Keighley Cougars narrowly lose 14-12 to visitors Bradford Bulls.

They completed the 12 and a half mile run in just under two hours and are now set to continue their fundraising in the Manchester Marathon this Sunday.

Nigel is set to run the whole event, with Mick and Nick running half each.

A series of fundraising events for MNDA in support of Stephenson, who also played for Clayton ARLFC, have taken place already.
